There will be “many special economic zones” in Crimea – media

In these zones, it is planned to lift restrictions on attracting foreign labor and use a simplified regime for the seizure of property. The main objective of creating a special economic zone (SEZ) in Crimea is to ensure the sustainable development of the peninsula. SEZs are being formed in order to create a more favorable regime than in other regions of the country, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev emphasized at a meeting yesterday.
This, in his opinion, will make it possible to maximize the economic potential of the peninsula. The tax burden, administrative and customs barriers should be reduced on the peninsula.
At the same time, Medvedev recalled that federal departments are delaying the discussion of the project. “Several meetings were held on this topic. “We must admit that in general, work on bills is going slower than we would all like; we have postponed the deadline several times,” Medvedev recalled. According to him, the ministries cannot find common ground regarding the depth of preferences for taxpayers in the zone.
