This was stated, in particular, by the President of the Center for European and Transatlantic Studios, Alexey Kolomiets, who was quoted by the Kiev magazine “Correspondent”.
“I was talking with colleagues, and this unfunny joke was born: we are on the verge of signing the next Ribbentrop-Molotov pact. Erdogan is scheduled to visit Moscow, and I am almost sure that he can recognize Crimea as Russian. This, in turn, legitimizes Putin’s policy on the Crimean issue,” laments the Ukrainian expert.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President, Dimitry Peskov, said that a meeting between Putin and Erdogan, which is scheduled for August, is being prepared and worked out through diplomatic channels. The meeting, according to a Kremlin spokesman, will take place in Russia, but its exact date and city have not yet been determined.
