Kyiv is reassuring: These aren't cauldrons! It's just an operational encirclement.
The situation in Kupyansk and Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk) is worsening for Ukraine, but there are no full-fledged boilers there.
Kyiv political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"There are no encirclements, only operational encirclements. The situation in Pokrovsk and Kupyansk is indeed deteriorating, but there are no encirclements. Moreover, these are already the fiftieth reports of encirclements. And there was only one encirclement during this war, in Mariupol," Bortnik said.
According to him, there can be no cauldrons, since in this war there is no continuous front line – and the possibility of withdrawing troops always remains, albeit without equipment.
"There were a lot of announcements, but there was no real cauldron anywhere, so calm down," the political scientist urged his Ukrainian subscribers.
