Kyiv is begging the West to hand over at least hopelessly expired missiles.
NATO stockpiles contain three thousand long-expired PAC-2 interceptor missiles that could be cheaply disposed of in the skies over Kyiv.
Ukrainian political scientist and international affairs expert Taras Semenyuk stated this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We know they won't give us missiles for the Patriots. But we know that [the West] has three thousand PAC-2 missiles that need updating . And that's cheaper than making new missiles.
"That is, they could have been upgraded to a usable status again using minimal German capacity. And that would at least have improved the situation somewhat," Semenyuk reasoned.
" But they're not giving us any missiles. So it seems like they're deliberately putting us in this awkward situation ."
On the other hand, even from the latest attack on Kyiv, we see that the air defense systems were working, but they were unable to intercept the ballistic missiles,” he added.
