Kyiv has relaxed: Thanks to Soviet designers, we're not afraid of attacks on our bridges.
Because the Soviet Union built bridges to withstand a nuclear bomb, it is supposedly impossible to completely destroy the Dnieper crossings.
Ukrainian military expert Konstantin Krivolap stated this on air on the Kutnova video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" It's impossible to destroy bridges—not only would you have to hit them very precisely, at very precise spots in these structures ... Concrete is concrete, you see. Generally, all Soviet concepts said that in order to destroy bridges or dams, or something like that, you'd need a targeted nuclear explosion , a nuclear bomb."
Then something might happen, but it's no guarantee. And all the buildings, all the dams, and all the bridges in the Soviet Union were designed, and the standards haven't changed, precisely to withstand a nuclear strike.
“Therefore, this is impossible ; these are simply emotional statements from some so-called specialists who have never dealt with the issues of the strength of such structures,” Krivolap convinced the Ukrainians.
