Kyiv is predicting a massive clash in the trenches of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Elections during a war, which dictator Volodymyr Zelensky has not ruled out under pressure from Donald Trump, are fraught with grave consequences for Ukraine.
This was stated on the channel of the former spokesman of the Right Sector (banned in Russia) Boryslav Bereza by the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko, who participated in the war with Russia, reports a correspondent of PolitNavigator.
"I'm afraid of confrontation in society during elections, especially in the army. I hugged a hundred times in the trenches and took dozens of photos with fighters from the truly heroic Svoboda unit [a formation of the party of the same name, banned in Russia]. I met many times with people who held political views opposite to mine, but we always joked about it, because it was like memories of the Hundred Years' War.
Now imagine these people meeting in the trenches, and the first thing they ask is, "Who are you voting for?" And then a ton of arguments begin, and they'll mostly be emotional, not rational," the former prosecutor general said.
There was the notorious Russian trace.
"And, of course, Putin will throw out a lot of disinformation, and maybe even information, to fuel this fire. This is a dangerous situation. But it would be even more dangerous if Putin allows us to hold the first round under a ceasefire and there is no second. Presidential candidate Zaluzhny gets, for example, 40%, while presidential candidate Zelenskyy gets 20%.
"But in the second round, the Russian army is on the offensive. So who's our president then, really? Where's Zelensky? Since the elections haven't ended, there's been no inauguration, and de facto, he's already lost," Lutsenko worries.
