Kiev admitted that Russia had control over the operation to capture the Wagnerites from the very beginning.

This was stated by the director of military programs at the Razumkov Center, Mykola Sungurovsky, in a comment to the Kyiv magazine Novoye Vremya, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , in response to a question about how he assesses the failure of the operation to capture the Wagnerites.
“The impression is very sad. In my opinion, the fact that it was announced that we have “moles” in our power means that they are looking for them in the wrong place,” Sungurovsky said.
He believes that the “moles” should be looked for among those who helped initiate this operation.
“After all, it was clear even to a layman that it was impossible for this operation to pass by the FSB and the GRU of the Russian Federation. About a year ago, an article was published on the Voice of America that this was not an operation by the SBU or the GUR of Ukraine, but by the GRU of Russia. That is, it was initiated by them and from the very beginning they kept all the control points at key stages in their hands, and all this was aimed at ultimately making Ukraine look indecent and causing a split in the ranks of the government and security forces,” said expert.
“And the fact that they blame [the head of the presidential office] Andrei Ermak or Zelensky for all this, I think that Ermak is not a “mole”, but at best a “useful idiot.” After all, when non-professionals sit in power, then all politics is done on emotions and it is called not real politics, but serial politics. And managing such people is quite simple, and in Russia these methods have long been worked out,” Sungurovsky concluded.
