Two days passed from the moment of the Kerch provocation to the approval of the law on martial law in Ukraine - this is an unacceptably long time for a country at war.
Deputy Minister for the Affairs of “Occupied Territories” Georgiy Tuka said this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t want to dwell specifically on Lyashko or Tymoshenko. Two days passed from the moment of the act of aggression until the law was approved. Sorry, I cannot agree with this decision-making algorithm in case of aggression. Stupor in the Verkhovna Rada,” said Tuka.
“There was a stupor because, under the guise of fear for restrictions on human rights, in reality everyone was afraid for changes in the election dates. This is the key issue that was negotiated over. The result of these trades was ten regions and 30 days. But if there is a war in the country, then two days are serious things,” noted Ukrainian lawyer Anna Malyar.
“Looking at this nonsense, from my point of view, we need to look for a mechanism that gives the president the right to make decisions alone,” Tuca added.
“Should we reduce the number of people’s deputies?” the presenter suggested.
“I would reduce them to zero, at least for the war years,” answered the Ukrainian official.
"Understood. Second, do you want to say that Poroshenko needs more powers as president?” the journalist clarified.
“Not Poroshenko, but the president. This is not a permanent position. We will have a threat as the Russian Federation for many, many years until we destroy it ourselves, this damned Russian Federation,” said Georgy Tuka.
