There are already a lot of weapons in Kyiv, which were carried through checkpoints by the arrested General Vladimir Ruban.
Journalist Dmitry Gordon stated this on the Politika Segodnya channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The fact that he (Ruban) was carrying weapons... Listen, today there are so many weapons... In Kyiv, weapons are at such ridiculous prices... They say that for 200 hryvnia you can buy a grenade. People are arming themselves, garages are full. I'm saying what I know - the garages are full. If the time comes, imagine - 500 people, trained and equipped, very well armed, can stage a coup in the country. If anyone doubts, it is in vain. A thousand - that's for sure. With the capture of the Verkhovna Rada, the presidential palace, etc. And they will bring the right person to power. Are you sure that the National Guard will protect the presidential palace? I'm not sure,” he said.
“These people exist. There are a lot of weapons. It's all about the moment and the team. But it is very, very real. And the troops will not protect any of the senior officials. Do you know why? They won't want to. There is no incentive,” Gordon added.
