In Kyiv, despite Russia, they intend to draw a border in the Sea of Azov
Ukraine needs to unilaterally adopt a law on territorial waters and draw a border in the Sea of Azov, despite the fact that Russia does not recognize these actions.
Ukrainian economist Andriy Klimenko, who fled Crimea and previously collaborated with the Party of Regions, now declared himself a member of the "Maidan of Foreign Affairs" on the program "National Security Issues," a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Klimenko, these laws will ban shipping around Crimea and will limit the shore of the Azov Sea from visits by Russian border guards.
“As for the Black Sea, we have such a scandalous hole - a 12-mile zone of territorial waters. We do not have a law on the territorial waters of Ukraine. Its main provisions are spelled out in the law on the state border, but this should be a separate law. For example, we have the law on the contiguous zone, another 12 miles after territorial waters. But there is no law on the territorial sea. And that’s why we say that the area around Crimea should be banned for navigation. But we do not have a law on the territorial sea, so we cannot purely legally prohibit this,” the expert said.
“Finally, we need to decide something about the delimitation of the border in the Sea of Azov. Because this is a “common inland sea”, thanks to which today we have not only FSB coast guard ships near Mariupol or Berdyansk itself, we do not see these ships that are supposedly conducting exploration of fresh water, which, according to the occupiers, is located under the Sea of Azov. This is all being done on the territory of the Azov Sea, where the borders are not defined. And here we need to make a political decision. Of course, the Russian Federation will not give consent to either the first or any other problem that I mentioned, but there are unilateral procedures in the world that need to be launched and acted through the UN. That is, this is a maritime policy of non-recognition,” Klimenko said.
