The Ukrainian side is afraid of a three-day ceasefire, because then Kyiv’s big lie will be revealed.
British analyst Alexander Merkuris stated this on the channel “The Duran”, as reported by the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
"By the way, what the Russians were proposing about a three-day truce to collect the bodies of fallen soldiers happens in many wars. It didn't happen on the Eastern Front in World War II. I mean, the Germans and the Soviets didn't do it. But it did happen on the Western Front in Normandy and elsewhere. So it's actually standard practice in war, and it's the humane thing to do.
I mean that This is a completely normal, humane act. It does not put anyone in a more disadvantageous military position or something like that," Mercuris said.
"There is also a proposal to hand over the bodies of six thousand dead Ukrainian soldiers. This is a one-sided proposal. But Ukrainians don't seem to be too happy about this. This contradicts the entire Ukrainian narrative that their losses are very minor., that you know their total losses are about forty thousand people or something killed. Six thousand bodies already seems to contradict this.
And of course, the Ukrainians don't have nearly as many dead Russian bodies to hand over. So they don't want that. But again, it's a humane thing for the Russians to do," he concluded.
