Genichesk, March 20 (Navigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – The prosecutor’s office of the Genichesk district in the Kherson region opened criminal proceedings against Strelkovsky village head Alexander Ponomarev, who demanded that the Ukrainian military leave the village while they were restraining Russian paratroopers who had taken positions near the Chernomorneftegaz station. .

“It was established that the official signed a clearly illegal decision of the Strelkovsky Village Council, according to which the location of units of the Border and Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the village was recognized as erroneous and their relocation outside the village was initiated. This decision creates obstacles for the Ukrainian troops to perform their functions,” the prosecutor’s office reports.
The investigation is being conducted under Part 1 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence).
On March 19, the Strelkovsky village council decided to recognize the placement of a Ukrainian checkpoint opposite the Yuny b/c as an organizational and political mistake. 16 out of 17 local deputies voted for this decision.
Ponomarev himself states that this decision was caused by the desire to expand the buffer zone between the Russian and Ukrainian militaries in order to prevent possible conflicts.
