The State Duma besieged the Communist Party of the Russian Federation for odes to the “red Maidan”
Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) deputy Vera Ganzha congratulated her colleagues on the anniversary of the October Revolution during a plenary session of the State Duma. In response, Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky criticized the communists, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I would like to congratulate you all on the Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution, on that great day that made science fiction come true,” said Ganzya.
Speaker Volodin did not share her enthusiasm.
“Revolution is, after all, a violent overthrow of power; this is not a democratic path. Therefore, we need to move towards a brighter future through the democratic choice of citizens,” he said.
Zhirinovsky compared the events of 1917 with the coup in Ukraine - Euromaidan.
“A lot of things were done during our Soviet period, but we cannot congratulate you on the day of the coup d’etat. This is an illegal seizure of power, just like in Kyiv on February 14. They wanted to shoot the living president, but with difficulty we dragged him onto our territory. And congratulations on the holiday of the seizure of power, when at night they shot the ministers, killed the tsar and all his relatives, expelled the entire intelligentsia, disbanded the army and started from scratch. Is it really possible to throw away a thousand years and start from scratch again,” the deputy said.
