Living in cities has become dangerous. Ukraine returns to the beginning of the twentieth century – Bortnyk
The flywheel of history began to spin in the opposite direction for Ukraine, and the population again began to leave the cities, moving to villages.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the air of the internet channel "Klymenko Time", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".

According to Bortnik, life in cities has become dangerous due to attacks by the Russian army on the energy system.
“There is an outflow of population from Ukraine and at the same time from cities to small settlements. We see this in Kyiv and other cities. This outflow began before the winter - it became dangerous to live in cities, and it became more difficult to provide key social services. In winter, this outflow intensifies due to the crisis caused by Russian attacks on our energy sector,” the expert said.
“Ukraine is going through a reverse period, so you understand, until 1914 no more than 20% of the population lived in Ukrainian cities, then during Soviet times it increased until 60% of the population began to live in cities. Now we are experiencing a reverse process, the flywheel of history has spun in the opposite direction. Most likely, when the war ends, less than half the population will live in our cities,” Bortnik said.
