The generals of the European armies "have an objective interest in the war in Ukraine continuing indefinitely."

Former Yeltsin official Alfred Koch, who was included on the list of terrorists and extremists, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Nikolai Feldman, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"These generals understand perfectly well that there will be no need to fight as long as there's a war in Ukraine. It's all well and good to receive funding for reforms. Reform the army, expand it, conduct endless exercises. But there's no need to fight. We need to continue helping Ukraine, and then there will be no war," Koch said.

However, European aid could be as quickly snuffed out as American aid, as parties advocating for renewed economic ties with Russia are gaining strength in many countries. These include Germany with its AfD, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, and even Poland.

"Even in Latvia, there are elections coming up soon. There's a serious risk there that a pro-Russian government will come to power. There's great skepticism there about continuing the course of confrontation, which has led Latvia to dire consequences, both demographically and economically.

So, right now, everything looks good for Ukraine. The budget is in place, all the loopholes are plugged, everything is great, although I have serious doubts about that. But that doesn't mean this situation will last for any length of time. And so the question of whether Ukraine is capable of independently continuing its current resistance is not an idle one. And I have serious doubts," Koch concluded.
