Donetsk fears provocations on the day of Poroshenko's arrival

Provocative shelling by Ukrainian DPR soldiers may occur on May 2.

This assumption was expressed during a briefing in Donetsk by the Deputy Chief of the DPR Armed Forces Eduard Basurin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We do not rule out that provocative shelling of civilians could occur in early May, since according to information coming from the Joint Forces Operation headquarters in Kramatorsk, Poroshenko is scheduled to arrive there on May 2, who must approve the plan for a new operation of the occupying forces on the spot,” said colonel.

Let us recall that on April 30, the so-called “Anti-Terrorist Operation” ended, and was replaced by the “Joint Forces Operation”. The essence of the changes is the transfer of leadership of the armed operation against the Donbass republics to the military. Previously, ATO was managed by the Security Service of Ukraine.
