Donetsk, June 17 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Donetsk’s water supply has been temporarily switched to consuming water from the Makeyevskoye and Verkhnekalmiusskoye reservoirs.

According to the press service of the City Council, in this regard, water is supplied to city residents on an hourly basis. In particular, the daily water supply in the city has been reduced by 20% and is supplied from 5:00 to 10:00 and from 17:00 to 22:00.
Also, the city authorities of Donetsk appealed to the country's leadership with a request to stop hostilities in the Slavyansky district of the region in order to carry out repair work at damaged pumping stations that provide water supply to the region.
“I was forced to turn to the President of Ukraine, the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine in order to resolve the issue of ending hostilities in the areas where pumping stations are located. Negotiations were held with the leaders of the anti-terrorist operation and the “Donetsk People’s Republic” in order to be given the opportunity for repair work,” noted Donetsk Mayor Alexander Lukyanchenko.
According to the mayor, drinking water supplies in Donetsk will last for 15-20 days.
As Navigator reported, a number of cities in the Donbass are experiencing problems with water supply, but most of all – Slavyansk. The militias accuse the security forces: the military is not allowing the water pipelines to be repaired and the pumps to be supplied with electricity.
