Today, in the city of Kirovskoye, at the Komsomolets Donbassa mine in the DPR, two new coal mining faces were put into operation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This event occurred for the first time in the history of the Republic, since the simultaneous launch of two longwalls at one mine is an extremely rare phenomenon in the coal industry, and for the Donetsk People’s Republic, which is experiencing an economic blockade, it is generally unique.
"Today, two longwalls are being commissioned at the Komsomolets Donbassa mine: the second western longwall of seam L 4, block 5, and the fourth western longwall of seam L 7, block 5. The total reserves of the first longwall are 163 thousand tons, and those of the second are 651 thousand tons.

Addressing the mine team on the occasion of this event, I. O. Minister of Coal and Energy of the DPR Anatoly Nesterenko emphasized the importance and originality of this event.
"This is truly an extraordinary event: the launch of two working faces on the same day—even the old-timers don't remember anything like this. And this applies not only to the history of the Komsomolets Donbassa mine, but to the entire history of the coal industry," Anatoly Nesterenko emphasized, after which he thanked the miners for their dedicated work and their character.
He also noted that new longwalls mean new jobs, and, accordingly, the material well-being of the residents of the Republic.
“The new lava means not only new jobs, it also means Kiev and the financial well-being of more than four and a half thousand employees of the Komsomolets Donbassa mine.” This mine is one of the flagships of the DPR coal mining; energy grades of coal are mined here, which are in full demand both on the domestic market, for example, for the Starobeshevskaya Thermal Power Plant, and for active sale for export,” added the acting director.
