“On the “mother” territory of the republic, 300 thousand hectares were under cultivation, so far 125 thousand have been added, that is, by 41%. And the number of livestock has doubled, the republic’s milk supply has jumped from 26 to 50 percent,” Kramarenko said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.

However, he admitted that he had to face many difficulties.

“For farmers on the liberated lands, all chains have broken down - the supply of fertilizers, spare parts, seeds. In Ukraine everything was different. There was an imported selection, but we had Stavropol and Krasnodar selection. A huge problem - in Ukraine they worked with chemicals, to deplete the land, in pursuit of money. And they actively practiced GMOs, which also influenced high yields. According to our laws, this is prohibited. We will have to rebuild,” the minister noted.

In addition, he points out, in the liberated territories there will be a problem with equipment, since almost all of it is imported, while in the DPR they switched to Russian and Belarusian.

“And most importantly, the USA and Europe exported grain from Ukraine and paid $300 per ton for it. And now the internal price is 15-17 thousand rubles. Because our goal is different - not export, but providing the republic with bread. When we become part of a big country, then the rules will change.

But at the same time, our fuel is cheaper and fertilizers are cheaper. No one will be left at a loss. Very soon there will be agricultural departments here that will help.

Help came even in the midst of fighting. People from liberated areas called: farms without feed, without diesel fuel. And the farmers from the motherland of the DPR immediately responded, just crazy mutual assistance! You should have seen how milk tankers and trucks with feed were going there under shelling, mixed with tanks,” Kramarenko recalls.
