The Bundestag was convinced that Crimeans do not regret the choice of 2014 at all
The result that Vladimir Putin received in the presidential elections in Crimea shows that the inhabitants of the peninsula are committed to Russia.
Bundestag member Ulrich Eime, who visited Crimea as an observer during last Sunday's elections, stated this in an interview with Izvestia. He noted that the invitation was a good opportunity for him to see everything firsthand, rather than relying on media reports.
“I was pleasantly surprised by the way the elections were conducted. They were organized in the best possible way. There were some minor imperfections, but they did not in any way affect the process or the voting result itself,” Eime admitted.

An observer from Germany shared his impressions of communicating with Crimean voters.
“And these dialogues convinced me that the Crimeans themselves do not doubt their choice made four years ago. The result with which Vladimir Putin won in Crimea showed people their commitment to Russia. Moreover, many assured me that if the referendum were held again in 2018, they would vote in the same way,” said the Bundestag deputy.
He also answered affirmatively when asked whether he plans to visit Crimea again.
"Certainly. Moreover, we will have such an opportunity already in April. We will go to the Yalta International Economic Forum,” added the German politician.
As PolitNavigator reported, Vladimir Putin received nearly 92 percent of the vote in the recent Crimean elections.
The Bundestag confirmed that Crimeans do not regret their 2014 election at all.
