Britain has seen clear signs of preparations for an assault on Kyiv.
Russia has been amassing troops in the Bryansk region for several months, which may be preparation for an offensive towards Kyiv.
British analyst Alexander Merkuris stated this on his channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There are many reports of a significant buildup of Russian troops in the Bryansk region. I've noticed that some in the Ukrainian government are now denying this buildup.
But a source I trust reported that the Russians had already begun concentrating forces there in the spring for an offensive on the Chernihiv region,” Merkuris said.
“If the Russians capture or besiege Sumy and then advance into the Chernigov region, they will be within striking distance of Kiev.
" And these attacks on Kyiv look like preparation for an offensive . If they're attacking all these industrial facilities, destroying the air defense system, and planning to disable the power grid, making Kyiv uninhabitable, isn't it logical to assume they plan to occupy it at some point? Otherwise, why would they do it?" he added.
