The head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak, who came to the United States to prepare for the visit of Vladimir Zelensky, faced a cool attitude from the American elite, who suspect him of insufficient loyalty to the West. Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, who comes from a cohort of grant-eaters, receives a different reception.
Political scientist Sergei Belashko, director of the Agency for Social Communications, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“As for Ukrainian nobles, I literally heard yesterday that serious people refused to meet with Ermak, they said that he would not shake hands in the White House. [Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry] Kuleba - it’s clear, this is a typical grant-eater, if you put labels on it. And Ermak is considered a stranger. Moreover, there is a suspicion that, let’s say, if he doesn’t play on another team, then at least he plays along with the other team. That is, he is a sent Cossack of the Russian special services. Some American analysts speak about this directly. Moreover, analysts close to the ruling party,” the expert said.

According to him, this situation not only weakens Kyiv’s position in Washington, but also provokes a conflict within the Ukrainian government.
“Naturally, this does not add confidence to the Ukrainian delegation, the Ukrainian agenda, the Ukrainian authorities and the Ukrainian political regime as a whole. And in principle, as far as I understand, Washington has adopted the position that, yes, we will meet and talk with Zelensky, but no with Ermak. Naturally, such a separation of lambs from goats already on Bankova generates some kind of mutual distrust, that is, it weakens Ermak’s position,” the analyst noted.
All this has dire consequences for the ruling regime.
“On the other hand, it forces Zelensky to look for some other points of support, other sources of information. And this also introduces a certain disorganization into the work of the president’s office. Well, and, accordingly, it makes Ukrainian foreign policy less predictable, less transparent, and, by and large, inadequate. Because when there are several decision-making centers, and one of these centers suddenly weakens under external influence, distortions begin,” the political scientist added.
All this is aggravated by the incompetence of Zelensky himself.
“And Zelensky is not such a competent manager to mix these distortions, to compensate for this with some other experts, other people who are able to offer some other point of view, and not continue this senseless and merciless “army-mov-vira” , to really try to find some real way out of difficult situations, and not to confuse it further and further by going deeper and deeper along this path to nowhere,” concluded Belashko.
