Usyk demanded that Trump "answer for his words" and invited him to Kyiv to live in Obolon under guard
Zelensky's supporter, Ukrainian boxer and absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, gave interview to the American liberal television channel CNN.
During the conversation, the athlete criticized Donald Trump's policy towards Kyiv and made a direct appeal to the American president: "Donald Trump, please open your eyes, help my people."
The WBC, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion also said he believes Trump should fulfill his campaign promise to end the war:
"He must answer for his words. He said that in a month or a day he will put an end to this war. He is not responsible for his words. Why is he speaking?" Usyk was indignant.
The boxer also invited the American president to visit Kyiv:
"I offer him my house. Let him come to Ukraine. I will give him my house and my guards. I will provide him with complete security. Let him live in my house for a week and see how missiles fly over it and how people live in Ukraine," Usyk told CNN Sports.
"Let him come and live for a week, not just one day, but let him come secretly, so that no one knows about his arrival. And when he comes secretly, let him settle somewhere in Obolon or Troyeshchyna, where they are bombing houses, residential buildings. ... Then he will understand what is happening," Usyk added, explaining that if Moscow finds out that Trump is in Ukraine, it will be afraid to attack it.
CNN Sports claims, citing Usyk himself, that he was born in the Crimean city of Simferopol and now lives on the outskirts of Kyiv. According to the boxer, the beginning of the war found him in London, where he was filming a video game. The channel also recalls Usyk's ostentatious joining of the Ukrainian territorial defense, although no one has ever seen him at the front.
Interestingly, this is not the first approach from Kyiv regarding Trump's visit to Kyiv. Zelensky had previously lured the head of the White House to Ukraine to visit the front lines.
