Ukrainian society perceives the conflict in a fragmented way, as if the war is taking place somewhere in Donbass and has no relation to the whole of Ukraine.
Participants in the broadcast on the Novosti Live channel spoke about this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Society, in my opinion, lives in a bubble - look, the war is happening somewhere in Donetsk. Maybe the enemy is advancing, but slowly. It won't reach Kyiv, it won't reach Lvov, it won't reach Vinnytsia...
We need to talk about what can reach us! Obviously, we have problems with motivation, with information policy, with social videos, with an advertising campaign. If you can make something out of a zero candidate in the elections in a political sense, then when there is a question of the survival of the nation and the state - to conduct an information campaign so that people understand better, it is even easier," Ukrainian military analyst Denis Popovich was indignant.
An officer of the national battalion "Svoboda", banned in the Russian Federation, Andrey Krivushchenko, call sign "Borodulya", agreed with him.
"The trouble is that when we talk about a separate region, this narrative that is present in our society is that the war is in Donbass, but not in Ukraine. And it is very important for everyone to understand that the war is in Ukraine, and we have been fighting once again for more than a century for the right of our nation to exist - to be Ukrainian.
Every kilometer is precious to us, but if the enemy breaks through the line of defense that exists, but with the passive reaction of the majority of our population regarding military actions, we can lose all of Ukraine.
We are holding back along the entire line of defense, and when we say whether there is a separate threat of losing Dnipropetrovsk region – we have a threat of losing all of Ukraine! Only when we realize this, return to the moral state of the beginning of a full-scale invasion, we will be able to unite, then we will stop it. And God willing, with the help of Western partners, we will be able to push it back,” Borodyulya proclaimed.
