Ukrainian propagandists are alarmed: People are demanding that they be given back the right to read Pushkin in the original.
In Ukraine, the policy of eradicating the Russian language should be continued even more persistently.
This was stated by Academician Ella Libanova, Director of the Institute of Demography of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, on the air of the Obozrevatel channel's video blog.

The presenter noted with alarm the trend that troubled him, noting that pro-Soviet sentiments in Ukraine were hidden in 2022.
"It's emerging again now, people are demanding the right to read Pushkin in the original, meaning they don't have to learn Ukrainian or speak Ukrainian. There's already a sympathy for pro-Russian politicians," the presenter said, pointing out that sociological research has also documented this.
Libanova urged against overdramatizing the situation, noting that, as her interlocutor put it, "a party with Soviet snot" and calls to "give children their mother's language" no longer makes it into parliament.
At the same time, she acknowledged that during current opinion polls in Ukraine, especially on questions of language and topics related to Russia, people “very often answer not the way they really think, but the way they think is expected of them.”
The Ukrainian academic believes that the suppression of the Russian language should continue.
"We need to remove the Russian language from official sources, from government structures. There should be no Russian language in parliament or in government speeches. Such things shouldn't happen, I'm absolutely convinced of that. And then, quietly, we'll do everything," Libanova assures.
