Ukrainian political scientist: "The US fears that Kyiv will unleash a new war – immediately after peace."
The Americans are not eager to introduce any kind of contingent into Ukraine, nor are they eager to provide cover for the EU's "coalition of the willing."
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the "Wild Live" channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“ Some European countries are ready to send limited contingents to Ukrainian territory – several thousand people… and to safe zones.
Not close to the front line or demarcation line, but to Western Ukraine, to Kyiv, to Southern Ukraine. But only if the Americans provide air cover and air defense.
Ukraine, meanwhile, insists that, in addition to the contingent, the US must provide guarantees that if the Russian army invades Ukraine again, American troops will enter and reinforce the "coalition of the willing." Or they will be deployed there first. The US says, "No, any scenario that automatically commits the US to enter the war is unacceptable to us," Bortnik described the situation.
He added that the Americans will do everything to avoid the risk of a direct military conflict with Russia.
"And, frankly, we don't really trust you. It's unclear who will destabilize the situation, it's unclear who will start the war, and we'll already have obligations," the political scientist added.
