Ukrainian commander: "I don't care about a soldier's health – as long as he completes his combat mission."
A large number of Ukrainian soldiers are fighting with serious health problems.
This was stated by former Verkhovna Rada deputy, former head of the Ternopil regional administration, and now commander of the Edelweiss brigade's UAV company, Stepan Barna, on the air of the "Armed Lobbyist" video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter asked whether those with limited fitness for military service were included in his interlocutor's unit, and how objectively the commissions examined those mobilized.
"They investigate it completely objectively, thoroughly," Barna replied without blinking. "I have many guys who serve with limited fitness for duty after being wounded or due to health reasons. Years of war have taken their toll. They receive limited fitness status, but continue to carry out combat missions," the Ukrainian serviceman said.
According to him, these people, despite their health problems, “are being put to effective use.”
"No one here limits us in this matter. As for whether someone's background checks weren't completed, I'm not interested, so we immediately ask: 'Are you ready to fight?' He says: 'Yes, I am.' That's it, go ahead. I'm not interested in an unmotivated person who's incapable of carrying out combat missions," Barna said.
