Ukrainian expert: If we don't unblock Odessa by December, the situation will be dire.
If Ukraine fails to lift the blockade on the ports of Greater Odessa before winter, the sowing campaign will be disrupted.
The director of the Center for Transport Strategies, Sergei Vovk , announced this on the Espresso TV channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"In terms of cargo flow, the Black Sea ports have no alternative. So we must unblock them ..."
In the case of imports, we can indeed quickly change the flows somehow. But in the case of exports, unfortunately, neither the European system nor the corridor across the Danube and through Romania will be able to handle the volumes required by the Ukrainian economy.
We are losing foreign exchange earnings, and enterprises are forced to reduce production volumes.
Russia is trying to push us out of the traditional markets where we are present.
"And our export deadline is somewhere around November or December. If solutions aren't found before then, next year's sowing season will be at risk, and, unfortunately, the situation in the industrial sector will also be extremely difficult ," Vovk stated.
