A Ukrainian diplomat explained how Zelensky is again trying to "cheat both the Russians and Trump."
Volodymyr Zelensky, who is supposedly proposing negotiations with Russia, hopes to thereby secure from the United States the arms supplies the Kyiv regime needs.
Former Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Roman Bessmertny stated this on Radio NV, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There are two addressees here. The first key addressee isn't Moscow. The first addressee is Washington, because there's been a lot of talk there right now about resuming diplomatic relations. Broadcasting this information, and not so much broadcasting it as Moscow's response, will clearly show Washington that there's no point in engaging in this, wasting energy. None of this will happen," the former ambassador reasoned.
According to him, after Moscow's refusal, Kyiv will have the opportunity to strengthen its air defense.
“And then we will get a return to 300 interceptor missiles – and a return to the issue of licensing [of interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems],” Bessmertny hopes.
