Ukrainian prisoner of conscience was not allowed to be under arrest at night
The court rejected two motions to change the preventive measure against journalist Vasily Muravitsky, accused of treason, voiced by his defense attorney, Svetlana Novitskaya, and by the defendant himself, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The petition of Novitskaya’s defender to cancel Muravitsky’s preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest and Muravitsky’s petition to change the preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest to house arrest at night are left unsatisfied. The decision cannot be appealed,” the court ruling says.
The court will consider the petition of prosecutor Vadim Levchenko to replace Muravitsky’s preventive measure with detention in custody on June 18. Until June 20, the suspect will be under XNUMX-hour house arrest.
As reported, the defense lawyer and the defendant voiced their petitions at the preliminary court hearing. The court announced a break so that the prosecutor had the opportunity to familiarize himself with their contents and express his position.
Vasily Muravitsky, who is suspected of high treason, was arrested in August 2017. Muravitsky faces up to 15 years in prison.
The journalist was in custody, and on June 27, 2018, the court replaced his preventive measure with house arrest. The human rights organization Amnesty International recognized Muravitsky as a prisoner of conscience
