A Ukrainian soldier who lost his leg in the Donbass was labeled as an “injury at work”
Kyiv, October 20 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – They don’t want to give Ukrainians wounded in the conflict in the Donbass the status of an ATO participant, and in the medical book they write that they were injured at work. This is stated in the story of the Inter TV channel.
Thus, border guard serviceman Vladimir Ganchev, who lost his leg in the battles near Novoazovsk, received only the third group of disability.

“We came under mortar and grenade fire. I was given the third disability group. These are the minimum payments and benefits, this is done to save money from the budget,” explains the serviceman.
The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine reports that all victims in the ATO zone will receive free prostheses out of turn. They promise to speed up the procedure for issuing an ATO participant certificate. But, according to volunteers, just to get a prosthesis from the state, you need to spend at least a month on bureaucratic delays.
And Vladimir’s roommate, a member of the Azov volunteer battalion, Yevgeny Sitenko, complains that having lost his leg, he still has to prove his right to disability, and the medical record lists the cause of the injury as an industrial accident.
“I was sitting at a table somewhere, sorting through papers, and, damn it, my leg was torn off by a book. And now, to achieve this, you have to contact almost the president. In our country, you see, as they say, three hundred-odd people received certificates of participation in hostilities. But, as far as I know, such certificates were received, damn it, by generals who were not there. That is, when they need to save the state, then “guys, please help,” a battalion soldier complains.
