Ukrainian TV: FSB took away a laptop with patriotic poems from a “pro-Ukrainian poet” in Moscow

The author of poems in support of Ukraine was declared a witness in the arson case of the local prosecutor's office and all media were confiscated from him.

This was reported by the Ukrainian television channel Espresso.TV, citing the Russian liberal opposition publication Grani.ru.

It is reported that the house of the “author of pro-Ukrainian poems” Alexander Byvshev was entered by people who initially introduced themselves as employees of electric networks. Later it turned out that this was the department of the Russian FSB for combating extremism. According to the poet, they searched his place and tried to detain him.

Last year, shortly after the annexation of Crimea, teacher Byvshev received 300 hours of community service for extremism and inciting ethnic hatred for his poems “To Ukrainian Patriots.” Then the poet’s laptop, where the poems were stored, was taken away.

Now all electronic storage media and a new laptop have been confiscated, and they have also been declared a witness in the arson case by the local prosecutor's office. Byvshev claims that this is the first time he has heard about the arson.

“It’s unlikely that they sincerely expect to see photographs of Molotov cocktails there or my correspondence with a gang of arsonists... They want to deprive me of access to the Internet and interfere with my literary activities. Or maybe they want to find texts to open new cases against me,” the poet said in a comment to Grani.ru.
