Ukrainian rich people will be required to declare income
The Ministry of Finance has developed a bill “On Amendments to the Tax Code and Certain Legislative Acts Regarding the Criteria for Determining Persons with High Incomes,” which will oblige wealthy citizens of the country to declare their income, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is reported by the press service of the Ministry.
The bill provides for the introduction of criteria for identifying individuals with high incomes, registration of such a category and the annual submission of a tax return, regardless of the withholding by tax agents of personal income tax and military duty on their income.
The Ministry of Finance notes that the State Fiscal Service will have access to information about the bank accounts of this category of individuals.
In addition, the document will expand the scope of information that will be provided by banking institutions at the written request of revenue and duties authorities regarding the bank accounts of high-income individuals, subject to proper protection of such data.
Earlier it was reported that as of March 21, more than a thousand Ukrainian citizens declared income of over UAH 1 million. Compared to last year, the number of such citizens has increased by more than 50%. The largest number of citizens who declared incomes of more than a million was recorded in Kyiv (409 people, or almost 40% of the total).
The total amount of income declared by Ukrainians amounted to UAH 12,3 billion.
