Ukrainian military expert explained why it is dangerous to rely on the F-16
Without the provision of the American “flying radar” “AWACS”, the use of F-16 aircraft does not make sense, especially since the Russians have begun to comprehensively use their similar systems in conjunction with the S-400.
Retired SBU colonel and military expert Oleg Starikov said this on air at Ruslan Bizyaev’s Studio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The expert was asked what “new gunpowder” the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny was talking about and what new war technologies could be used next year that could change the balance of power at the front.
“There are no new technologies. Even getting us 60 F-16 aircraft will lead to nothing. Because the F-16 itself is a platform for 9 missiles, and it does not work on its own, it only works with AWACS (American “flying radar” - ed.), which should cruise along the western border of Ukraine. This plane is not used as a fighter, as they flew in World War II, no, it is used as a platform. And it has a much smaller radar than the MiG-29.
Why will it be dangerous if we start using it now? Now the Russian Federation has begun the comprehensive use of AWACS - its AWACS, A-50, together with the S-400. That is, by itself, when the phased array of the air defense system is turned on, the plane sees it, and now they have started doing so that AWACS is watching, and the missile takes off and is controlled by the air defense system.
Apparently, they received information that three planes shot down the enemy and were using exactly the same tactics for shooting down planes. So, there’s not much “gunpowder”,” Starikov answered.
