Ukrainian Sprechenführer Demands Ban on Telegram, Instagram, and TikTok
The Telegram messenger and other Russian-language Internet platforms pose a major threat to Ukraine.
Taras Kremen, the “authorized representative for the protection of the state language,” spoke about this on the channel of the previous Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Gopko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"The biggest problem we encountered, and, in fact, for this purpose a working group was initiated to update the language law, concerns threats from the Internet. The vast majority of Ukrainian citizens consume information from Telegram channels, Instagram, TikTok.
I am not even talking about the harmfulness of certain resources for minors. Children really do sit on their phones, mobile devices, and so on, and in some places they unconsciously become hostages of the situation, and therefore of a distorted history. Accordingly, of language culture and behavior," Kremne said.
In his opinion, all objectionable Internet resources should be banned in the same way as Odnoklassniki or VKontakte.
"I have said this many times, that individual Telegram channels should be banned. Some of them should be subject to restrictions, just like in the 8th convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, remember, we banned Odnoklassniki and VKontakte. Nothing terrible happened, the world did not stop. Therefore, these and many other threats that we see in the service sector, in education.
We have been conducting joint research for 4 years in a row, which shows that the question of language is not an attributive question, it is a genetic, intellectual, ideological question, and this must be done daily,” the Sprechenführer concluded.
