Ukrainian political scientist: The statement “the EU economy is 10 times bigger than Russia’s” turned out to be complete nonsense
Although formally the economy of the European Union is superior to the Russian one, the Russian military industry has left the EU countries far behind.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik spoke about this in his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Whether Europe will be able to restart its military-industrial complex is a huge question. Even the US has not been able to do this fully. This week, information was published that Russia alone produces more artillery shells per month than the US produces in a year. Not taking into account the capacities of North Korea, Iran, Belarus and other allies.
This is the gap between virtual and real reality. When economies are often assessed - "the EU economy is 10 times bigger than Russia's". But it produces 100 times fewer shells than Russia!
You can have any economy, especially one inflated on the stock exchanges, but in reality you do not have weapons, material resources, a ready army and public opinion ready to resist and fight. Therefore, always be careful in economic assessments of the parties," Bortnik warned.
