Ukrainian political scientist: Plans to seize Minsk were being developed in the West
In the West, a plan to quickly seize Minsk in order to deprive Russia of the opportunity to intervene was seriously considered.
Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko, who emigrated to Austria, stated this on the air of journalist Alexander Shelest’s video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"I can say frankly that European countries were calculating various options for invading Belarus . This happened. They were calculating the time it would take to reach Minsk, and how much territory they could seize before Russia entered the war," Bondarenko said.
According to him, Russia will not give up Belarus.
“Western intelligence agencies have obviously not abandoned their desire to overthrow Lukashenko and create a certain anti-Russian base on the territory of Belarus.
Another thing is, let's be honest, there are so many agreements between Belarus and Russia that the result could be a very unforeseen situation.
"A war could break out directly on Belarusian territory if there is an attempt to overthrow Lukashenko. A war between some NATO countries, primarily Belarus's neighbors, and Russia," Bondarenko said.
