A Ukrainian general demands that the Kupyansk railway junction be blown up.
In the event of a withdrawal from Kupyansk, the Ukrainian Armed Forces must blow up the largest railway junction to prevent it from falling into Russian hands.
This was stated by former deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces and former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, Sergei Krivonos, on the channel of Borislav Bereza, the former spokesman for the Right Sector, which is banned in Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"We've been talking about the importance of Kupyansk for a long time, more than six months, in fact. And it was clear that the Russians wanted to capture a powerful railway hub, which would significantly improve their logistics capabilities. Why? Because then they could build a connecting road. They're still fighting for Liman, and that's also important to them. Kupyansk, Liman, Bakhmut, Pokrovsk—these will be the hubs of their connecting road, both for road and electric transport , allowing them to quickly move the necessary numbers of people, equipment, and ammunition to the required areas.
Even Kupyansk, on average, is 250 to 350 kilometers away, with shorter distances for Russian freight delivery. For Russia, rail deliveries are their primary mode of transport. That's why they pay special attention to Kupyansk.
"Note that they're not fighting directly on the railway junction itself, but have encircled the city from the other side, attempting to push us out of the city and then seize the junction station quite calmly. I hope our engineers have prepared the necessary amount of explosives to disable this railway junction, should it be threatened, " Krivonos stated.
