The Ukrainian government must pass a weapons law that will provide guns to a large number of the population in order to resist Russia.
This was stated by former deputy head of the SBU, General Viktor Yagun, at a press conference in Kyiv, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the general, the massive arming of Ukrainians ensures that the likely offensive of Russian troops will not be easy.
“If we legalize weapons, if we allow a normal number of the population of Ukraine to keep weapons and the aggressor will know about this, that if not in every house, then every house there is some kind of weapon, this is also a very strong message that this will not pass ", said the general.
“I’ll just use the example of my family to say that when we entered the war in 14, I had one device at home for shooting with rubber. This is in my home, despite the fact that I have three children, two sons. Now I have six weapons, four of which are rifled. And I know my friends whose situation has also changed. That is, by myself, I show everyone an example that everything will not be so simple,” Yagun said.
