Technically, you know, Japan and the Republic of Korea could have nuclear weapons very quickly. Because they have nuclear power plants, there's no ban on enrichment, but they enjoy the US nuclear umbrella. If that relaxes, things will move forward very quickly. They have the money, and they have this too. Unfortunately, we haven't even discussed this ," the diplomat said.
However, realizing he had said too much, he immediately hastened to point out that he was not referring to nuclear weapons, but rather to what Ukraine should do next in general.
"How can we deter them if we don't actually have thousands of missiles? What are they going to give us all the time, missiles paid for by others?" Chaly said.
