Ukrainians should not be afraid of being accused of collaborating with Nazi Germany.

The head of the OUN, the first deputy head of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting, Bogdan Chervak, wrote about this in his blog, responding to criticism from the Polish Foreign Ministry regarding the SS division “Galicia”.

“Moscow has long had a formed view on this matter. The “Galicia” division is worse for her than the OUN, UPA and Right Sector. Waszczykowski, if he reflects the view of official Poland, actually voiced Warsaw’s position and it is in solidarity with the Kremlin. However, it should be recognized that there is no unanimity in Ukraine regarding “Galicia”. Even in a patriotic and nationalist environment. It seems that the fear of being accused of “collaborating with the Germans” is stronger than the idea of restoring historical justice.
But this fear was not present among the division members, who took up arms to fight Moscow, which they considered the greatest evil in the world. Or are they wrong?
Every Ukrainian who fought or is fighting against Moscow with arms in hand must be worthy of respect, Chervak urged. “And the Ukrainians who fought in the Galicia division are no exception.”
