Immediately after reports of the seizure appeared on social networks, a Navigator source in the regional state administration of Balaklava, on condition of anonymity, said that “joint Russian-Ukrainian anti-terrorist exercises are taking place.”
Two hours later, now a source in the border detachment itself told the correspondent that the Russian military was preventing the seizure of the weapons available in the unit. Officially, the military does not comment on the situation.
In the meantime, acting President Alexander Turchinov issued a decree dismissing the head of the General Staff Yuri Ilyin. Yesterday he was on sick leave with a heart attack after a meeting with the “people's mayor of Sevastopol” Alexei Chaly.
