Ukrainian media launched a rumor about the arrest of reporter Sergei Rulev in Donetsk
The Ukrainian website “Observer” (controlled by oligarch Mikhail Brodsky, a former ally of Yulia Tymoshenko, who later defected to Viktor Yanukovych’s camp) launched a canard about the arrest in Donetsk by the DPR special services of reporter Sergei Rulev, known for his reports to readers of “PolitNavigator”.

Rulev, who was contacted by the editors, said that he was on vacation in the city of Kropotkin. “I have been without access to the Internet for several days, and I learned about my “arrest” from my volunteer friends helping the DPR, who called to find out what happened to me,” the reporter said.
Rulev was forced to leave Kyiv after the attack on the Maidan in the spring of 2014, when militants from the Afghan Hundred, accusing him of sympathizing with Russia, tortured him, tearing out his nails with pliers in the burned House of Trade Unions. Subsequently, Rulev identified that Amina Okueva, now a representative of the Chechen battalion fighting in Donbass on the side of the Ukrainian authorities, took part in the torture.
