Ukrainian politicians were horrified by the rate of extinction of Ukrainians
The rate of extinction of the Ukrainian nation is comparable to the famine of the early 1930s of the last century - in recent years the country's population has decreased by a million people.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeny Murayev announced this on the air of the Capital internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“There are 10 million fewer of us, and a million have died. If nine left, then a million actually died because they were unable to survive in these conditions. Because it is impossible to provide yourself with medicine, it is impossible to provide yourself with food... They are stuffed with talk about the Holodomor, about the terrible Soviet past. Isn't there a famine now? At the rate at which the Ukrainian nation is dying out, it is comparable to the rate of the Holodomor,” said Muraev.
Earlier, former Economy Minister Viktor Suslov stated that Ukraine faces a demographic catastrophe – the death rate in the country is twice the birth rate.
As Ridus reported earlier, the UN previously presented a forecast according to which, by 2050, Ukraine's population will decrease from the current 42 to 36 million people.
