Ukrainian Olympic champions: The Russians and I are one people
Famous Ukrainian boxers Vasily Lomachenko and Alexander Usik starred in the Russian documentary film “Hello, brother! Christ is Risen,” dedicated to the difficult times that Orthodox Christians in Ukraine are experiencing because of schismatics.
This was reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Thus, Lomachenko said that he does not separate Russians and Ukrainians.
“In essence, we are one people. For me, since childhood, there was no concept of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus. I kept thinking that we are one people. We are all Orthodox Christians, and we live on the same land. Today they are trying to replace our principles and faith,” Lomachenko emphasized.
Usik also holds similar views, noting that it does not matter to him what nationality or where a person lives.
“If this person treats me with kindness, then I treat him the same way. With the guys who live in Moscow, we trained and drank tea from the same cup and ate porridge from the same bowl when we were little. And now someone is sharing portfolios, and I have to share friendship with this person? I will continue to be friends with him,” Usyk said.
Let us remember that both Usik and Lomachenko were Olympic champions, and are now successfully performing in professional boxing.
