An article by the son-in-law of Leonid Kuchma and Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Pinchuk in The Wall Street Journal, in which he calls for compromise with Russia, expresses not only his private opinion, but also the solidary position of the Ukrainian oligarchy.

Ex-speaker of the People's Council of the LPR Alexey Karyakin told Politnavigator about this.
“It’s not just Pinchuk who talks about this. Absolutely everyone already understands that they failed to break into Europe, they are not needed there, it is necessary to restore dialogue with Russia, since most of the infrastructure was oriented towards the Russian market. If Ukraine wants to survive, it needs to make compromises,” Karjakin said.
He believes that only those Ukrainian oligarchs who are involved in sponsoring volunteer battalions can force Petro Poroshenko to comply with the Minsk agreements.
“Because at the moment Poroshenko has absolutely no control over the processes taking place in Ukraine. Life in the country today is completely controlled by armed gangs. At the same time, not a single armed unit can exist without finance. All terbats are paid and sponsored organizations,” Karjakin said.
At the same time, the ex-speaker believes, the oligarchs must act coherently, otherwise they will suffer the fate of Igor Kolomoisky, whose Privatbank was recently nationalized.
“I think certain actions have already been taken by the oligarchs. The answer did not take long to arrive: Kolomoisky is being robbed of his property, acquired through back-breaking labor. In order not to share his fate, the rest of the oligarchs must coordinate and act harmoniously,” Karyakin said.
