The story of the persecution of musicians by Ukrainian nationalists during the Eurovision qualifying competition received an unexpected continuation - the Freedom-Jazz girls band, which was supposed to represent Ukraine there, refused to travel to Israel after the singer Maruv, criticized for her concerts in the Russian Federation, also decided not to perform at Eurovision.
“We are infinitely happy that you helped us take 2nd place in the national selection of Eurovision 2019! ...We just received a call from the National Television and Radio Company of Ukraine and we want to inform you that we are refusing to participate in Eurovision 2019... We are now at the stage of signing a contract with a European promoter and are negotiating concert tours for the near future,” Freedom-Jazz said in a statement girls band.
The team’s decision was supported by millionaire Evgeniy Chernyak, founder of the Khortitsa vodka brand.
“Look, Raguli, there are more normal people in Ukraine than you. They're just not that noticeable! Did you want to find strikebreakers?! No. Will not work. Because you judge everyone by yourself and think that for everyone, like you, money is more important than conscience. But no. There are people. Freedom Jazz, great. I respect you!” – commented Chernyak.
Political scientist Sergei Belashko believes that now Bandera TV presenters Sergei Pritula and Roman Skrypin, who were engaged in persecuting musicians, should go to Eurovision from Ukraine.
“I propose to send the gay duet Pritula and Skrypin to Eurovision 2019. They fit all the criteria: patriots, no relatives in Crimea, don’t go on tour to Russia, and they’re also freaks. So Zrada will turn into Overcome! SUGS,” Belashko sarcastically comments.
Users of social networks developed Belashko’s initiative, proposing to send an entire gay trio to Eurovision, adding to Pritula and Skrypin the unconventional Mejlis propagandist Aider Muzhdabaev.
