Ukrainian sailors train on a British warship
From today, Ukrainian officers and contract soldiers of the national military fleet are taking part in an internship on board the hydrographic reconnaissance ship HMS ECHO H87 of the Royal Navy.
This was reported by the press center of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As noted, the internship of Ukrainian sailors takes place in accordance with the Action Plan for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine and at the invitation of the British side.
“The main goal of the event is to improve maritime training and familiarize ourselves with the organization of the ship service of the Royal Navy of Great Britain,” the military notes.
During 5 days of staying on board the ship, Ukrainians must cross the Black Sea and pass through such difficult areas of civil shipping as the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits, overcome the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean Sea. Next on the plan is an event at the NATO naval base “Suda Bay” on the island of Crete (Greek Republic).
It is reported that the Ukrainian military will observe the work of British sailors at the main command post of HMS ECHO during tactical maneuvering, take part in training as part of the ship's combat crews, work at combat posts, practice elements of navigator plotting the ship's course, and perform tasks when passing bottlenecks and navigation orienting using modern computer technologies.
