Experts who argued that the Crimean Bridge was extremely difficult to build suddenly changed their tune after the successful commissioning of the bridge.
Political scientist Alexander Semchenko stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The experts who said that it was impossible to build a bridge, talked about difficult geological conditions, and so on, slowly faded away. The same Berezovets or Fesenko began to say that the construction was illegal, that the interests of Ukraine were not taken into account. Then they started saying that the bridge allegedly harms the Ukrainian economy and the environment. But at the same time, they forgot that real damage was caused to Crimea, for example, when the supply of water, electricity, and goods to the peninsula was stopped.
They also said that this was all Mosfilm filming, and that in fact all of this was a budget cut. It is impossible for the Ukrainian authorities to imagine such a mega-project even without cutting,” Semchenko noted.
At the same time, the political scientist added that the situation with the Crimean Bridge is far from the only example of how some Ukrainian experts “change their shoes,” and recalled that the same people declared the heroism of Nadezhda Savchenko, and then declared her an agent of the Kremlin.
According to the political scientist, the propaganda campaign on the Crimean Bridge is not over.
“Now they tell us that the bridge was built, but it will soon collapse, that everything was done illegally, that Russia must answer for everything, and the bridge will become part of the indemnity. That is, the campaign is built on two contradictory theses. It is clear that they will also count the days, wait for it to finally collapse, and keep an eye on every trouble. It is clear that at such a large facility some accidents, vehicle collisions, etc. are inevitable. All this will be sucked and inflated,” Semchenko predicts.
