Ukrainian intelligence has issued a forecast for Crimea.
Deputy head of Ukrainian military intelligence Vadim Skibitsky admitted that the chatter on Kyiv TV channels about the "beginning of Crimea's return" is not true.
Despite the fact that the main forces of the Black Sea Fleet were forced to relocate from Crimea, the peninsula itself remains a powerful naval base, which Russia will fight for to the end, Skibitsky said in an interview with Apostrophe.
"We see this both in documents and in actions: they don't want to abandon Crimea. They'll take money from other regions, but they'll throw it at Crimea . In any case, Crimea remains a powerful naval base. Even though we've driven them out, it's a powerful element of pressure, including on the countries of the Black Sea region."
Secondly, there is no point in retreating, because it would hurt Putin’s image and the image of the Russian authorities.
